Welcome to the 2018 Spring season! I know it is crazy to be talking about an outdoor sport with all of the snow on the ground … but here goes!
This email is being distributed to parents across all boys Bulldogs programs and will be followed up by team-specific correspondence from additional coaches. We have a few important topics to get on the table:
** Season Schedule **
Kindergarten will start sessions on Saturday March 24th AIM Academy (1200 River Road) at 9 AM. Please arrive at least 15 min early to make sure we have them suited up by 9.
1st/2nd grade team will practice on Thursdays at from 6 PM to 7:30 PM on the grass fields to the left of PWHS stadium. Weather permitting, we will start on Thursday March 22nd. Please allow at least 10 min for the kids to get suited up before practice. They will also have Saturday practice at AIM Academy (1200 river road) at 10 AM starting onMarch 24th. Details for game schedules and "play days" will follow.
3rd/4th grade teams will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at from 6 PM to 7:30 PM on the grass fields to the left of PWHS stadium. Weather permitting, we will start onTuesday March 20th. Please allow at least 10 min for the kids to get suited up before practice. We will be playing a split schedule consisting of some "small sided" 7 vs. 7 games as well as full field 10 vs. 10. These games will start after Easter (details to follow).
5th/6th grade teams will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at from 6 PM to 7:30 PM on the grass fields to the left of PWHS stadium. Weather permitting, we will start onTuesday March 20th. Please allow at least 10 min for the kids to get suited up before practice. Due to solid registrations numbers, including plenty of new players, we will have two teams this year playing in different division levels. Games will be on Saturdays starting on April 7 and run through May 20th. (details to follow once league releases schedule) We will attempt to work in a few Saturday AM practices before games begin.
7th/8th grade team practice schedule is not settled yet. We are working with Colonial Middle School coach Dan Shoup to coordinate optimal practice schedule. We will run one practice per week, with games on Saturdays - from April 7th through May 20th.
Practice Summary Starting March 20th
** Goalies Wanted **
We have had a bit of a goalie shortage in recent years within all ages of the Bulldogs program.
We like to have at least two or three goalies at each age group so kids can take turns.
If anyone has a child interested in learning to play goalie, the club is in position to loan equipment and provide training to get them ready before the season begins.
We have several guys that played goalie at the collegiate level that are ready and willing to work kids - including small group sessions outside of practice.
This is a great opportunity to give the position a try without committing to the equipment expenditure or attempting to learn on the fly during the season.
Plenty of playing time available!
Please let us know if your son is interested.
** Volunteers Needed **
The Bulldogs program is run by volunteers - and is always looking for more. You don't even have to know anything about lacrosse to help out! If you are interested in any of the following, please drop me a line - and be sure to include the grade your son is in.
Team Management (scheduling/communication)
Coaching / on-field practice assistant
Timekeeper at games
Social media contributor
Program planning / facilitator (logistics for summer/winter clinics)
Anything else you think you can contribute!
Once again, communication will soon start from team coaches.
The Conshy Bulldogs Youth Lacrosse Club is a non-profit, volunteer run organization whose goal is to provide a positive and fun lacrosse experience for both boys and girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
We strive to develop and maintain a program where every participant, regardless of initial skill level, has the opportunity to learn the game; develop and improve skills; and be prepared for the next level of lacrosse - whether it be the next age group or on to the high school level. We attempt to field teams in all skill levels so that every participant is able to compete against players of similar skill and experience.
Our club serves all families that reside in the Colonial School District boundary and is the youth program for the Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School Lacrosse Program.
The Colonial Middle School and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Lacrosse rosters are filled with current and past Conshy Bulldog players. Over the years, several former Conshy Bulldog participants have gone on to play college lacrosse after high school.
We welcome volunteers to assist with making the experience a positive one for all involved. If interested in getting involved, please contact us at
Thank you in advance Welcome to the Conshy Bulldogs!
